[Meeting Talk]
Faisal Kiwewa (Artistic Director, Bayimba Foundation): He introduced the East African performing arts market and the touring platform DOADOA under the theme ‘Bridging Rhythms and Stories.’
Lea Philippe (Director, Festival FAR): She introduced a street arts festival in the alleyways of Montreal and spoke about collaboration with Korean artists.
[Producer Talk]
Brendan O’Connell (Independent Curator & Producer): He introduced the producer’s role in turning a single moment of exposure into a lasting ‘pathway.’
Lynn Fu (Independent Curator & Producer): She explored the meanings of ‘independent,’ ‘international,’ and ‘producing’ through the keyword ‘relationships.’
[Open Discussion]
Together with the four speakers, we discussed ways of exchange beyond geographical distance, the role of agencies, changing market trends, and the cost burden on artists.
